Patang refers to the agile paper kites beloved by children across South Asia. In Mohallah, the player guides a kite over a Lahore neighbourhood, avoiding rooftops, pigeons and crows. In the distance, parents may recognise Minar-e-Pakistan and Badshahi Mosque. The mosque was commissioned by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Players hold to let the kite climb, release to let it drift down, and learn to keep a steady path through the sky. Patang is spacious and unhurried. The world is built around warm rooftops, water tanks, washing lines, telephone wires, and distant kites that stay as scenery. The kite is never torn, cut, snapped, or destroyed.

For parents, the important boundary is clear: Patang is not about kite fighting. There is no cutting, duelling, tangling, glass-coated line, or head-to-head shared-sky mode. The play is about focus, gentle persistence, and recovering calmly after a mistake.
