Rangrez: Shapes & Doodles
A warm paper playroom for the youngest players: shapes, colours, and drawing.
Rangrez is a Mohallah game for children aged 4 to 5. A child taps a felt circle, hears "Circle!", and watches little circles bloom around it. A few turns later the shapes they found become a house, and the sun rises over it. There are four shapes, six colours, and three pictures to build: a house, a boat that rocks on its water, and a flower that opens.
The feeling is crafted and unhurried. The world is warm paper, felt shapes, and crayon scenery, and every request is shown as well as spoken, so a child needs no reading and no adult to play. At any moment they can switch to a big sheet of paper and draw whatever they like with chunky crayons and shape stamps.
For parents, the boundaries are simple. There is no score, no timer, no stars, and no streaks. A wrong pick is named kindly and the request is repeated; nothing is ever punished. Each child's drawing stays on the iPad and is removed with their profile. Rangrez means "dyer" in Persian and Urdu, a person who pours colour into cloth.
How to play
Find shapes and colours, build a little picture, or make a drawing of your own.
- In Match, look at the shape or colour shown and listen to its name.
- Tap the matching felt shape. If you choose a different one, listen to its name and try again.
- Keep matching to build a house, a boat or a flower, then watch it come to life.
- Tap Draw whenever you want to draw freely. Choose a crayon and move your finger across the paper, or choose a shape stamp and tap the paper.
- Tap Match to return to finding shapes and colours.
